Elementary and Intermediate Schools
Maui's thirty elementary and intermediate schools sponsor a variety of after-school activities including th A+ program, and as partners with the County of Maui, Department of Parks and Recreation, the PALS Summer and Intersession programs.
A+ provides after school supervision for children in a stimulating and caring environment at participating school facilities. PALS programs provide a quality recreational opportunity that offers activities such as music and rhythms, crafts, sports, culture and arts, and citizenship during the summer months at selected school and park locations. The interim PALS program focuses on enhanced learning with a classroom curriculum during the inter-sessions or school vacation periods. Summer School is offered by individual schools for enhanced, remedial or accelerated learning
High Schools
Public and private Maui high schools offer a wide variety of clubs and service organizations, sports and activities, student government and special events for students. The Parent-Community Networking Centers (PCNC) work to promote a feeling of community on campus and support connections between home, classroom, school, and the neighborhood. PCNCs enhance personal growth, student achievement and performance.
League Play:
The Maui Interscholastic League offers a variety of athletic events presented by each school. Youth are provided the opportunity to learn a sport as part of their after-school activities and compete with other school teams at the junior varsity and varsity levels.
